Email design for ecommerce and DTC brands

Your list is the one audience you own. I design the welcome, cart, post-purchase and campaign emails that get it buying, in Figma, ready to build in Klaviyo or Mailchimp.

The numbers behind the inbox.

Emails built to be clicked. Swipe through them.

Every one has a single job: the click that leads to the order. Open any email to read it top to bottom, along with the reason behind it.

Where the revenue was leaking, and how it got fixed.

Real problems from real inboxes: the brief, the design decisions, and what changed after the send.

A welcome flow that sells the second product, not just the first

Five emails rebuilt as one story: who the brand is, why it works, and what to buy first. Designed mobile first, checked in dark mode.

Abandoned cart emails that show the cart, not a stock photo

A three-email reminder sequence built around the exact item left behind, with reviews doing the persuading.

Quick gut check · Taking new projects

Is your welcome flow still one discount code and a logo?

If your cart emails haven't changed since launch and every campaign is a sale, there's revenue sitting in your inbox. Send me your worst-performing email and I'll tell you what I'd change and why.

Portrait of sthasamir

sthasamir, Kathmandu, Nepal

An email designer who thinks in revenue, not just pixels.

I'm sthasamir, a freelance email designer for ecommerce and DTC brands. Most brands I meet have a product people love and emails that leave money on the table.

Email is the channel you own, and it should be your most profitable one. So I design every email around one job: the click that leads to the order. Welcome flows that sell the first product, cart emails that bring buyers back, post-purchase emails that earn the second order, and campaigns people actually open.

I design mobile first, check dark mode and Outlook before you ask, and hand off files your developer can build without guessing. You work with me directly, from brief to send.

What I work in

  • KlaviyoFlows, segments and campaign structure
  • MailchimpCampaigns and templates
  • ShopifyProduct feeds and store branding

From brief to send-ready

  1. Step 1 of 3

    Brief

We start with the numbers, not the colors: which flows exist, where people drop off, what the offer is and who it's for. I ask the questions that save three rounds of revisions later.

A short call or a filled-in doc. Either works.

  2. Step 2 of 3

    Design in Figma

Your brand, real copy, real product shots, laid out so the eye lands on the offer and the thumb lands on the button. Mobile and desktop, light and dark mode.

    Two rounds of revisions included.

  3. Step 3 of 3

    Handoff

Exported images, alt text, link and tracking notes, and a build guide for every email, so it goes live this week, not next quarter.

Ready to build in Klaviyo or Mailchimp.

Emails that pay for themselves

Each one fixes a leak in the customer journey. Pick the one that hurts most, or stack them into a full lifecycle.

  • Welcome flows

New subscribers are never more interested than in their first week. Three to five emails that turn that interest into a first order: who you are, why it's worth it, what to buy first.

    When it sends
    Sends when someone subscribes
    Size
    3 to 5 emails
  • Campaigns

Launches, sales and newsletters designed to be clicked, not just admired. One at a time or as a monthly batch, without training your list to wait for a discount.

    When it sends
    Sends on your calendar
    Size
    One-off or monthly
  • Abandoned cart

The easiest revenue you're not collecting. A reminder, a reason and a nudge, each with the exact product they left front and center.

    When it sends
Sends when a cart is left behind
    Size
    2 to 3 emails
  • Post-purchase

The second order is where the profit is. Follow-ups, how-to guides and review requests that turn one-time buyers into regulars.

    When it sends
    Sends after an order
    Size
    3 to 4 emails
  • Templates

A modular master template, so your team ships on-brand campaigns fast, without breaking the layout or waiting on a designer.

    When it sends
    Used by every send
    Size
    Reusable modules

Questions I get, answered honestly

Design alone won't fix a bad offer. What it does is make the offer obvious, the button easy to tap and the brand easy to trust, which is what turns opens into clicks and clicks into orders. If the real problem is the offer, the timing or the list, I'll tell you that instead.

I design in Figma and hand off a file that's ready to build: named layers, exported assets and notes for every module. If you need someone to code or set it up in Klaviyo, tell me and I'll say plainly whether I can help or who can.

I design with Outlook's limits in mind: safe fonts with fallbacks, layouts that hold up without background images, and buttons that are real buttons. Outlook will still find a way to surprise everyone, but it will be a small surprise.

A single campaign usually takes a few days. A full flow takes one to two weeks, depending on how quickly feedback comes back. If your sale starts tomorrow, last week was the time to message me, but message me anyway.

Brand assets (logo, fonts, colors), product photos, and the copy or at least the key points. If the copy isn't ready, I'll design with realistic draft text and mark it clearly, never lorem ipsum.

Two rounds on the design. That's enough for almost every project, because we agree on the goal, the offer and the order of the message in the brief, before design starts.

Yes. Send me your worst one. I'll tell you what I'd change and why, and you can decide whether it's worth a project.
